Australia School is a caring, committed learning community. The school principal, teachers, and staff aim to provide the opportunities and encouragement for the children to learn to their fullest potential in a secure and stimulating environment. The Australia School educates all students within the Curriculum and Standard Frameworks expected in schools today. Mathematics Extensions to the curriculum are: Computing Comprehensive music program including instrumental tuition. Choir with concerts throughout the year. Excursions Incursions (authors, plays, music groups) After school sports and inter-school sports programs. The School Building: The school was built in 1945 in a block of 2.180 square metres. The school building is 3 storeys, the first floor comprises of a hall entrance, gallery and patio computer room, gym and sports room, toilets, showers and separate dressing rooms for girls and boys, kitchen and dining rooms, teachers’ room and headmaster’s office. The second floor has 5 classrooms with very large windows and is surrounded by balconies, and the third floor has another 2 large classrooms. Each classroom has the capacity for 35 students comfortably, lots of natural light (from the very large windows). The computer room has 9 computers and 2 printers for the use of students and teachers. The gym is shared with another school. |
